خشک آنکھوں کی کہانی دشت دشت اپنی ہی تھی

نم ہواؤں میں صدائے بازگشت اپنی ہی تھی

ڈھونڈتے پھرتے رہے تھے سایہ سایہ زندگی

دھوپ کی گلیوں میں صبح و شام گشت اپنی ہی تھی

جاگتی رہتی تھیں آنکھیں خانہ خانہ خوف خوف

خواب کی روشن نمائی طشت طشت اپنی ہی تھی

جنگلوں سے شہر تک شانہ بہ شانہ پشت پشت

سلسلہ کرتی ہوئی وہ سر گذشت اپنی ہی تھی

میری خوش طبعی نہ تھی روئے غریب شہر ہاں

شہر یاروں میں مزوج خوئے زشت اپنی ہی تھی

کرتے تھے پرویزؔ رحمانیؔ اجالے گل کشید

شب گرفتہ وادیوں میں خار گشت اپنی ہی تھی
