شام آرزو ہے تو
میں تو خشک صحرا ہوں
میری آب جو ہے تو
زیور تخیل اور
حسن گفتگو ہے تو
کچھ الگ ستاروں سے
چاند ہو بہ ہو ہے تو
صبح ہے بنارس کی
شام لکھنؤ ہے تو
گرچہ اب نہیں بیتابؔ
