پروفیسر رشید حسرت
غمِ ھستی کو دیکھیں اب گوارا کون کر لے گا
کِسے اب ڈُوبنا ھو گا، کنارا کون کر لے گا
ہمیں کُچھ اور رونے کے بہانے ڈُھونڈنےھوں گے
فقط اِک یاد میں رو کر گُزارا کون کر لے گا
ھماری ناؤ کے جب ڈُوبنے کا وقت آئے گا
لبِ دریا کھڑے ھو کر نظارہ کون کر لے گا
تیرے بِن جب نہیں بھاتِیں ھمیں پُونم کی راتیں بھی
تو پِھر روشن مُقدّر کا سِتارہ کون کر لے گا
تیرے حُسنِ حقِیقت کی جھلک اِک بار پا لے جو
تو پِھر شمس و قمر کو اِستعارہ کون کر لے گا
مُغنّی ھو، مُصوّر ھو، وہ بیرمؔ ھو کہ ھو حسرتؔ
مگر یُوں زِندگی کو غم کا دھارا کون کر لے گا
