بڑھاؤں اُن کی طرف ہات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
کریں وہ مُجھ سے کوئی بات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
کبھی کبھار تو ہوتی ہے بادلوں کے بغیر
فقط ہو ابر میں برسات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
میں بِیچ راہ میں رستہ بدل بھی سکتا ہوں
رہوں میں منزلوں پہ سات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
اُداسیوں میں بِلا وجہ کھو کے رہتا ہوں
تصوُّرات کی بارات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
تُمہاری یاد کے ہر شب چراغ جلتے رہے
ابھی ہو روز مُلاقات، کیا ضروری ہے؟
اُبھر رہا ہے پھر آنکھوں میں جُگنوؤں کا عکس
رکھوں میں قابو میں جذبات کیا ضروری ہے
رشیدؔ تُم کو بِچھڑنا ہے تو بِچھڑ جاؤ
کسی کو درد کی سوغات کیا ضروری ہے؟
