شمع گل ہو گئی سحر نہ ہوئی

روئے شبنم جلا جو گھر میرا

پھول کی کم ہنسی مگر نہ ہوئی

حشر میں بھی وہ کیا ملیں گے ہمیں

جب ملاقات عمر بھر نہ ہوئی

آئینہ دیکھ کر یہ کیجیے شکر

آپ کو آپ کی نظر نہ ہوئی

سب تھے محفل میں ان کی محو جمال

ایک کو ایک کی خبر نہ ہوئی

سینکڑوں رات کے کئے وعدے

ان کی رات آج تک قمرؔ نہ ہوئی
