ہم تشخص کھو رہے ہیں ذات کی تشہیر میں

ہم تشخص کھو رہے ہیں ذات کی تشہیر میں
خود بکھرتے جا رہے ہیں کوشش تعمیر میں
یہ بھی سوچیں کاش عزت کیا ہے اور ذلت ہے کیا
وہ جو رسوا ہو رہے ہیں حسرت توقیر میں
آج نخل مصلحت کی چھاؤں میں ہے محو خواب
پرورش جس کی ہوئی تھی سایۂ شمشیر میں
اے سخنور تم جو کہتے ہو وہ کیوں کرتے نہیں
کیوں ہم آہنگی نہیں کردار اور تحریر میں
اس کی صبحیں دل کشا ہیں اس کی شامیں جاں فزا
کھو گیا جو شخص لطف نالۂ شبگیر میں
ہو عطا جس شخص کو نور بصیرت اے جلالؔ
دیکھ لیتا ہے مصور کو بھی وہ تصویر میں

KHud bikharte ja rahe hain koshish-e-tamir mein
ye bhi sochen kash izzat kya hai aur zillat hai kya
wo jo ruswa ho rahe hain hasrat-e-tauqir mein
aaj naKHl-e-maslahat ki chhanw mein hai mahw-e-KHwab
parwarish jis ki hui thi saya-e-shamshir mein
ai suKHnawar tum jo kahte ho wo kyun karte nahin
kyun ham-ahangi nahin kirdar aur tahrir mein
us ki subhen dil-kusha hain us ki shamen jaan-fiza
kho gaya jo shaKHs lutf-e-nala-e-shab-gir mein
ho ata jis shaKHs ko nur-e-basirat ai 'jalal'
dekh leta hai musawwir ko bhi wo taswir mein
