ہر اک کو دوسرے سے عداوت ہے آج کل

کہرام زندگی کی علامت ہے آج کل

لب کھولنا ہی جرم بغاوت ہے آج کل

جیلوں میں بند شان خطابت ہے آج کل

سر پہ پہن کے نکلے ہیں دستار سب مگر

عزت کہاں کسی کی سلامت ہے آج کل

اندر کی ٹوٹ پھوٹ ہے بکھرا ہوا ہوں میں

مجھ کو بہت ہی اپنی ضرورت ہے آج کل

اپنی غرض سے ملتا ہے ملتا ہے جو کوئی

سچ پوچھئے تو کس کو محبت ہے آج کل

ہم نے پھر اپنی آس کے خیمے جلا دئے

در پیش ہم کو اک نئی ہجرت ہے آج کل

محفل بھی ان کی راس نہ آئی ہمیں وکیلؔ

بے کیف سی عجیب طبیعت ہے آج کل

har ek ko dusre se adawat hai aaj-kal
kohram zindagi ki alamat hai aaj-kal

lab kholna hi jurm-e-baghawat hai aaj-kal
jailon mein band shan-e-KHitabat hai aaj-kal

sar pe pahan ke nikle hain dastar sab magar
izzat kahan kisi ki salamat hai aaj-kal

andar ki TuT phuT hai bikhra hua hun main
mujh ko bahut hi apni zarurat hai aaj-kal

apni gharaz se milta hai milta hai jo koi
sach puchhiye to kis ko mohabbat hai aaj-kal

hum ne phir apni aas ke KHeme jala diye
dar-pesh hum ko ek nai hijrat hai aaj-kal

mahfil bhi un ki ras na aai hamein 'wakil'
be-kaif si ajib tabiat hai aaj-kal
