چھیڑا ہے نیا نغمہ حیات ابدی نے

اس بار تبسم نہ کیا سن کے کلی نے

لفظوں میں اترنے کا ہنر سیکھ رہا ہوں

خطرے میں ہیں الفاظ کے سینوں میں دفینے

وہ ہیں کہ بھٹکتے ہیں ابھی پیاس کے مارے

ہم ہیں کہ ڈبو آئے سرابوں میں سفینے

سنتا ہوں تڑپتے ہوئے پانی کا فقط شور

حساس بنایا ہے مجھے تشنہ لبی نے

افلاک کے منظر ہیں مرے سامنے عریاں

بخشی یہ بلندی مجھے بے بال و پری نے

شاداب نظر آتے ہیں اشجار ہر اک سمت

کیا شہر میں جنگل کی ہوا لائی کسی نے

پہلو میں دھڑکتا ہے تڑپتا ہے شب و روز

بے چین کئے رکھا ہے مجھ کو مرے جی نے

جو راستے جاتے ہیں ترے عرش کی جانب

وہ رستے بھی دکھلائے مجھے در بہ دری نے
