مثل بہشت خوش نما کون و مکان میں

انسان مبتلا ہے عجیب امتحان میں

بجھتی نہیں ہے کوشش دریا کے باوجود

یہ کیسی تشنگی ہے مرے جسم و جان میں

وہ دھوپ میں کھڑا ہے بڑے اطمینان سے

لو دے رہا ہے میرا بدن سائبان میں

کیوں نام انتساب میں لکھا گیا مرا

کردار جب نہیں تھا مرا داستان میں

اس بار پستیاں بھی میسر نہ آئیں گی

شل ہو گئے جو بال و پر اونچی اڑان میں

وابستہ تجھ سے عظمت شعر و سخن ہوئی

اس بات کو بھی رکھنا خیالؔ اپنے دھیان میں
