مجھے ڈبو کے بہت شرمسار رہتی ہے

وہ ایک موج جو دریا کے پار رہتی ہے

ہمارے طاق بھی بے زار ہیں اجالوں سے

دیے کی لو بھی ہوا پر سوار رہتی ہے

پھر اس کے بعد وہی باسی منظروں کے جلوس

بہار چند ہی لمحے بہار رہتی ہے

اسی سے قرض چکائے ہیں میں نے صدیوں کے

یہ زندگی جو ہمیشہ ادھار رہتی ہے

ہماری شہر کے دانشوروں سے یاری ہے

اسی لیے تو قبا تار تار رہتی ہے

مجھے خریدنے والو قطار میں آؤ

وہ چیز ہوں جو پس اشتہار رہتی ہے
