زندگی کی ہر کہانی بے اثر ہو جائے گی

ہم نہ ہوں گے تو یہ دنیا در بدر ہو جائے گی

پاؤں پتھر کر کے چھوڑے گی اگر رک جائیے

چلتے رہیے تو زمیں بھی ہم سفر ہو جائے گی

جگنوؤں کو ساتھ لے کر رات روشن کیجیے

راستہ سورج کا دیکھا تو سحر ہو جائے گی

زندگی بھی کاش میرے ساتھ رہتی عمر بھر

خیر اب جیسے بھی ہونی ہے بصر ہو جائے گی

تم نے خود ہی سر چڑھائی تھی سو اب چکھو مزا

میں نہ کہتا تھا کہ دنیا درد سر ہو جائے گی

تلخیاں بھی لازمی ہیں زندگی کے واسطے

اتنا میٹھا بن کے مت رہیے شکر ہو جائے گی
