چلو کہ چل کے کسی دشت کو کریں آباد

فضائے شہر تو قاتل ہے جسم و جاں کے لیے

ہمارے در کی سبھی دستکیں رہیں محفوظ

تمام عمر کسی دست مہرباں کے لیے

سبھی کو میری طرح عشق کا نہیں ادراک

سمندروں کا سفر ہے جہاز راں کے لیے

ہوائے بحر حد بحر سے نکل نہ سکی

کبھی اٹھا جو کوئی ابر شہر جاں کے لیے

عجیب بات مکینوں کو کچھ خبر نہ ہوئی

گلی میں بولیاں لگتی رہیں مکاں کے لیے

اسی جہاں کی محبت میں مر گئے خاورؔ

کیا نہ کام کوئی تم نے اس جہاں کے لیے
