سینے میں اک شور مچا ہے

سناٹا کتنا گہرا ہے

آج بہت کم پھول کھلے ہیں

شاید موسم بدل رہا ہے

صحرا سے باہر نکلوں تو

ہر رستہ گھر کا رستہ ہے

وہ کیا بچھڑا میں نے سب سے

ملنا جلنا چھوڑ دیا ہے

گھر کے اندر حبس ہے کتنا

باہر کتنی تیز ہوا ہے

سڑکوں پر اک بھیڑ ہے خاورؔ

سارا شہر مگر تنہا ہے
