شام گزری ہے ابھی غم کی سحر باقی ہے

اک سفر ختم ہوا ایک سفر باقی ہے

کس طرح گھر میں کہوں اپنے شکستہ گھر کو

کوئی دیوار سلامت ہے نہ در باقی ہے

زرد آتا ہے نظر خوف خزاں سے وہ بھی

ایک پتا جو سر شاخ شجر باقی ہے

اب جلائیں بھی دوبارہ تو وہ شاید نہ جلیں

جن چراغوں پہ ہواؤں کا اثر باقی ہے

کیوں رہے تشنۂ خوں وہ بھی ہمارے ہوتے

تیرے ترکش میں کوئی تیر اگر باقی ہے

ختم ہوتے ہی میں آتی نہیں راہ منزل

عمر بھر چلتے رہے پھر بھی سفر باقی ہے

دشت کی خاک ہوا جسم تو کب کا خاورؔ

شہر میں اب بھی مرا نام مگر باقی ہے
