سونا سونا آنگن ہے اور بام و در خاموش

کس سے گفتگو کیجے ہو جو گھر کا گھر خاموش

شمع کی طرح کوئی غم گسار کیا ہوگا

ساتھ ساتھ چلتی ہے رات رات بھر خاموش

کچھ تو مصلحت ہوگی جو زباں نہیں کھلتی

ورنہ تیری محفل میں ہم اور اس قدر خاموش

ہے سکوت کا عالم کائنات پر طاری

جب سے ہم ادھر چپ ہیں اور وہ ادھر خاموش

شہر دل پہ چھائے ہیں دشت غم کے سناٹے

کتنی آرزوئیں ہیں سب کی سب مگر خاموش

کارواں کو لوٹا ہے کس نے یہ بتائے کون

چشم راہزن حیراں دست راہبر خاموش

جور ہائے یاراں کے سلسلے نہ بڑھ جائیں

اور بھی رہے خاورؔ تم یوں ہی اگر خاموش
