کہ بے رخی میں بھی میرا خیال رکھتا ہے

جو آج میرا نہیں ہے وہ کل مرا ہوگا

کہ ہر زمانہ عروج و زوال رکھتا ہے

عجب نہیں وہ جہاں بھر کو بے وفا سمجھے

نظر میں میری وفا کی مثال رکھتا ہے

کہاں تلک کوئی دست کرم کو زحمت دے

تمام شہر ہی دست سوال رکھتا ہے

مری اڑان کے آگے ہے کس قدر بے بس

یہ آسماں جو ستاروں کا جال رکھتا ہے

ترا خیال ہی کچھ مہربان ہے ورنہ

جہاں میں کون کسی کا خیال رکھتا ہے

مقابل صف اعدا ہے اس طرح خاورؔ

کہ تیغ رکھتا ہے وہ اور نہ ڈھال رکھتا ہے
