دل سے یا گلستاں سے آتی ہے

تیری خوشبو کہاں سے آتی ہے

کتنی مغرور ہے نسیم سحر

شاید اس آستاں سے آتی ہے

خود وہی میر کارواں تو نہیں

بوئے خوش کارواں سے آتی ہے

ان کے قاصد کا منتظر ہوں میں

اے اجل! تو کہاں سے آتی ہے

شکوہ کیسا کہ ہر بلا اے دوست!

جانتا ہوں جہاں سے آتی ہے

ہو چکیں آزمائشیں اتنی

شرم اب امتحاں سے آتی ہے

عین دیوانگی میں یاد آیا!

عقل عشق بتاں سے آتی ہے

تیری آواز گاہ گاہ اے دوست!

پردۂ ساز جاں سے آتی ہے

دل سے مت سرسری گزر کہ رئیسؔ

یہ زمیں آسماں سے آتی ہے
