جب کوئی حرف نگارش کے لیے آتا ہے
دھوپ کی سمت نکلتا ہوں سفر پہ جب بھی
ایک سایہ مری پرسش کے لیے آتا ہے
دوسرے لمحے نہیں رہتی وہ پہلی صورت
جیسے ہر پل کسی سازش کے لئے آتا ہے
جاں چھڑاتے ہوئے چلنا ہے ہر اک رستے سے
کوئی ہر گام پہ یورش کے لیے آتا ہے
رہ نہ پائے کسی گوشہ میں اندھیرا انجمؔ
ہر نیا دن اسی کوشش کے لیے آتا ہے

dusre lamhe nahin rahti wo pahli surat
jaise har pal kisi sazish ke liye aata hai
jaan chhuDate hue chalna hai har ek raste se
koi har gam pe yurish ke liye aata hai
rah na pae kisi goshe mein andhera 'anjum'
har naya din isi koshish ke liye aata hai
