خموش جھیل میں گرداب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
سمندروں کو بھی پایاب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
ذرا جو عظمت رفتہ پہ حرف آنے لگے
تو اک بچی ہوئی محراب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
اچٹتی نیند سے حاصل بھی اور کیا ہوگا
کٹے پھٹے ہوئے کچھ خواب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
ہمیں بھی جرأت گفتار ہونے لگتی ہے
جو ان کے لہجے کو شاداب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
سفر کا عزم تو باقی نہیں رہا راشدؔ
بس اب بندھا ہوا اسباب دیکھ لیتے ہیں
