میں سوچتا ہوں جسے آشنا بھی ہوتا ہے

میں سوچتا ہوں جسے آشنا بھی ہوتا ہے

مگر خیال سے وہ ماورا بھی ہوتا ہے

سوائے شاعری زنداں میں کچھ کیا ہی نہیں

وگرنہ بند قفس کھولنا بھی ہوتا ہے

زیادہ تر میں عناصر سے دور دیکھوں اسے

وہ خاک و آتش و آب و ہوا بھی ہوتا ہے

میں ٹوٹ جاتا ہوں اور دور جا بکھرتا ہوں

اگر جدائی کا صدمہ ذرا بھی ہوتا ہے

ہر ایک راستے پر ہم تو جا کے دیکھیں مگر

جدھر نہ جانا ہو وہ راستا بھی ہوتا ہے

اسی کے در کے فقط ہو کے رہ گئے ہیں ہم

سنا ہے جب سے کہ دروازہ وا بھی ہوتا ہے

ظفرؔ وہاں کہ جہاں ہو کوئی بھی حد قائم

فقط بشر نہیں ہوتا خدا بھی ہوتا ہے
