رات کو خواب ہو گئی دن کو خیال ہو گئی

اپنے لیے تو زندگی ایک سوال ہو گئی

ڈال کے خاک چاک پر چل دیا ایسے کوزہ گر

جیسے نمود خشک و تر رو بہ زوال ہو گئی

پھول نے پھول کو چھوا جشن وصال تو ہوا

یعنی کوئی نباہ کی رسم بحال ہو گئی

تجھ کو کہاں سے کھوجتا جسم زمیں پہ بوجھ تھا

آخر اسی تکان سے روح نڈھال ہو گئی

کون تھا ایسا ہم سفر کون بچھڑ گیا ظفرؔ

موج نشاط رہ گزر وقف ملال ہو گئی
