اک روز میں بھی باغ عدن کو نکل گیا

توڑی جو شاخ رنگ فشاں ہاتھ جل گیا

دیوار و سقف و بام نئے لگ رہے ہیں سب

یہ شہر چند روز میں کتنا بدل گیا

میں سو رہا تھا اور مری خواب گاہ میں

اک اژدہا چراغ کی لو کو نگل گیا

بچپن کی نیند ٹوٹ گئی اس کی چاپ سے

میرے لبوں سے نغمۂ صبح ازل گیا

تنہائی کے الاؤ سے روشن ہوا مکاں

ثروتؔ جو دل کا درد تھا نغموں میں ڈھل گیا
