تمام خلق خدا دیکھ کے یہ حیراں ہے

کہ سارا شہر مرے خواب سے پریشاں ہے

میں اس سفر میں کسی موڑ پر نہیں ٹھہرا

رہا خیال کہ وہ وادیٔ غزالاں ہے

یہ ایک میں کہ تری آرزو ہی سب کچھ ہے

وہ ایک تو کہ مرے سائے سے گریزاں ہے

تو حافظے سے ترا نام کیوں نہیں مٹتا

جو یاد رکھنا ہے مشکل بھلانا آساں ہے

میں اس کتاب کے کس باب کو پڑھوں پہلے

وصال جس کا ہے مضموں فراق عنواں ہے
