ویسے تو اک دوسرے کی سب سنتے ہیں

جن کو سنانا چاہتا ہوں کب سنتے ہیں

اب بھی وہی دن رات ہیں لیکن فرق یہ ہے

پہلے بولا کرتے تھے اب سنتے ہیں

شک اپنی ہی ذات پہ ہونے لگتا ہے

اپنی باتیں دوسروں سے جب سنتے ہیں

محفل میں جن کو سننے کی تاب نہ تھی

وہ باتیں تنہائی میں اب سنتے ہیں

جینا ہم کو ویسے بھی کب آتا تھا

بدل گئے ہیں جینے کے ڈھب سنتے ہیں

آنکھیں چھو کر دیکھتی ہیں آوازوں کو

کان دہائی دیتے ہیں لب سنتے ہیں

سنتے ضرور ہیں دنیا والے بھی شہزادؔ

کہنے کی خواہش نہ رہے تب سنتے ہیں
