اگرچہ کار دنیا کچھ نہیں ہے

اگرچہ کار دنیا کچھ نہیں ہے

مگر اس کے علاوہ کچھ نہیں ہے

اگر دھرتی پہ بادل ہی نہ برسیں

تو یہ دریا اکیلا کچھ نہیں ہے

بہت ناراض ہیں اک دوسرے سے

مگر دونوں میں جھگڑا کچھ نہیں ہے

یہ جو کچھ ہو رہا ہے شہر بھر میں

تماشا ہے تماشا کچھ نہیں ہے

یہ میں ہوں جو بدل جاتا ہوں ہر روز

زمانے میں بدلتا کچھ نہیں ہے

اگر جھولی نہ پھیلائی گئی ہو

تو وہ بے درد دیتا کچھ نہیں ہے

یہ دنیا ہے یوں ہی چلتی رہے گی

مرے ہونے سے ہونا کچھ نہیں ہے
