شہر کا شہر اگر آئے بھی سمجھانے کو

اس سے کیا فرق پڑے گا ترے دیوانے کو

کیا کوئی کھیل ہے بے نام و نشاں ہو جانا

ویسے تو شمع بھی تیار ہے جل جانے کو

وہ عجب شخص تھا کل جس سے ملاقات ہوئی

میں ملا ہوں کسی جانے ہوئے ان جانے کو

ایک لمحہ بھی تو بے کار نہیں کٹ سکتا

ایک گتھی جو ملی ہے مجھے سلجھانے کو

یہ الگ بات کہ اک بوند مقدر میں نہ تھی

سر پہ سو بار گھٹا چھائی رہی چھانے کو

شام ہونے کو ہے جلنے کو ہے شمع محفل

سانس لینے کی بھی فرصت نہیں پروانے کو
