سیہ راتیں بھی دلکش کم نہیں ہیں

یہ وہ زلفیں ہیں جن میں خم نہیں ہیں

اکٹھّے بہہ رہے ہیں دو سمندر

مگر اک دوسرے میں ضم نہیں ہیں

مرا مسکن ہے تیرے غم کی وادی

وہاں پر ہُوں جہاں پر غم نہیں ہیں

سبھی دھندلا گئے منظر پرانے

مگر کچھ صورتیں مدّھم نہیں ہیں

عبید اس عہدِ عیاری کا حصّہ

ہمارا جسم ہے، پر ہم نہیں ہیں
