جو دل تھا بے سکوں میرا، عجب جو بے قراری تھی

جو دل تھا بے سکوں میرا، عجب جو بے قراری تھی

کہیں ٹوٹا تھا کچھ دل میں، کہانی بس یہ ساری تھی

عجب وحشت زدہ سا تھا وہ عالم گلشنِ دل کا

خزاں کے خوف سے چپ چپ، جو بادِ نو بہاری تھی

بھُلا دوں کس طرح آخر وہ شامِ آرزو اپنی

کہ جس پہ ناز ہونا تھا، وہی تنہا گزاری تھی

جو اب بھی ہم نہیں گرتے، بھلا پھر اور کیا کرتے

عقب سے جو پڑی تھی وہ، بہت ہی ضرب کاری تھی

عدو میں کب یہ طاقت تھی، جھکاتا سر جو یوں میرا

کرم یہ دوستوں کا تھا، کہ بازی میں نے ہاری تھی

وہ اپنی ضد پہ قائم تھا، ہٹے ہم بھی نہیں پیچھے

ہوئے برباد یوں دونوں، انا چاہت پہ بھاری تھی

اُسی نے زینؔ مانگی تھی، جدائی بارہا ہم سے

بھلا وقتِ جدائی پھر اُسے کیوں سوگواری تھی
