رات بھر برف گرتی رہی ہے

آگ جتنی تھی سب بجھ گئی ہے

شمع کمرے میں سہمی ہوئی ہے

کھڑکیوں سے ہوا جھانکتی ہے

جس دریچے پہ بیلیں سجی تھیں

جالا مکڑی وہاں بن رہی ہے

صبح تک موڈ اکھڑا رہے گا

شام کچھ اس طرح سے کٹی ہے

رات نے پنکھ پھیلا دیے ہیں

شعر کہنے کی ساعت یہی ہے

عمر بھر دھوپ میں رہتے رہتے

زندگی سانولی ہو گئی ہے
