زندگی کی ہنسی اڑاتی ہوئی

خواہش مرگ سر اٹھاتی ہوئی

کھو گئی ریت کے سمندر میں

اک ندی راستہ بناتی ہوئی

مجھ کو اکثر اداس کرتی ہے

ایک تصویر مسکراتی ہوئی

آ گئی خامشی کے نرغے میں

زندگی مجھ کو گنگناتی ہوئی

میں اسے بھی اداس کر دوں گا

صبح آئی ہے کھلکھلاتی ہوئی

ہر اندھیرا تمام ہوتا ہوا

جوت میں جوت اب سماتی ہوئی
