درخت دن رات کانپتے ہیں

پرند کتنے ڈرے ہوئے ہیں

فلک پہ تارے زمیں پہ جگنو

گھروں کے اندر چھپے خزانے

کٹے پھٹے سب بدن پرانے

قدیم چکنی طویل ڈوری میں بندھ گئے ہیں

کثیف ڈر کی غلیظ مٹھی میں آ گئے ہیں

کہاں گئے وہ دلوں کے بندھن

گلاب ہونٹوں کی نرم قوسیں

زمیں جو راکھی سی بن کے

سورج کے ہاتھ پر مسکرا رہی تھی

کہاں گئی وہ ہوا جو پینگیں بڑھا رہی تھی

وہ سبز خوشبو جو بند نافع

گلی گلی پھر کے بانٹتی تھی

وہ ہاتھ تھامے

نحیف جسموں کی ایک لمبی قطار جس میں

کہیں بھی کوئی تڑخ نہیں تھی

یہ کون ہیں ہم

جو سہمے پیڑوں

ڈرے پرندوں لرزتے تاروں

سے بندھ گئے ہیں

خود اپنے سایوں سے ڈر گئے ہیں
