کہاں چراغ چلاؤں کہاں قیام کروں

سبھی کے سر پہ ہے رکھی کلاہ نخوت کی

قدوں کی بھیڑ میں کس کس کا احترام کروں

ہیں جتنے مہرے یہاں سارے پٹنے والے ہیں

کسے میں شہہ کروں اپنا کسے غلام کروں

عجیب شہر ہے کوئی سخن شناس نہیں

متاع فکر میں منسوب کس کے نام کروں

مرا شناسا ہے کوئی نہ ہم زباں ہے کوئی

دیار غیر میں پھر کس سے میں کلام کروں

سجاؤں اس کے لئے گھر بچھاؤں پلکیں ظفرؔ

وہ آ رہا ہے تو کچھ میں بھی اہتمام کروں
