چمکتی وسعتوں میں جو گل صحرا کھلا ہے

کوئی کہہ دے اگر پہلے کبھی ایسا کھلا ہے

ازل سے گلشن ہستی میں ہے موجود بھی وہ

مگر لگتا ہے جیسے آج ہی تازہ کھلا ہے

بہم کیسے ہوئے ہیں دیکھنا خواب اور خوشبو

گزرتے موسموں کا آخری تحفہ کھلا ہے

لہو میں اک الگ انداز سے مستور تھا وہ

سر شاخ تماشا اور بھی تنہا کھلا ہے

کہاں خاک مدینہ اور کہاں خاکستر دل

کہاں کا پھول تھا لیکن کہاں پر آ کھلا ہے

کبھی دل پر گری تھی شبنم اسم محمد

مری ہر سانس میں کلیوں کا مجموعہ کھلا ہے

یہی روزن بنے گا ایک دن دیوار جاں میں

مرے دل میں ندامت کا جو اک لمحہ کھلا ہے

یہیں تک لائی ہے یہ زندگی بھر کی مسافت

لب دریا ہوں میں اور وہ پس دریا کھلا ہے

بکھرتا جا رہا ہے دور تک رنگ جدائی

ظفرؔ کیا پوچھتے ہو زخم دل کیسا کھلا ہے
