ہزار بندش اوقات سے نکلتا ہے

یہ دن نہیں جو مری رات سے نکلتا ہے

وہ روشنی میں بھی ہوتا نہیں کہیں موجود

جو رنگ ماہ ملاقات سے نکلتا ہے

مجھے بہت ہے جو خوشبو کا ایک جھونکا سا

کبھی کبھی ترے باغات سے نکلتا ہے

اسی نواح میں آباد ہوں کہیں میں بھی

دھواں جو میرے مضافات سے نکلتا ہے

دل اور طرح کے حالات سے الجھتا ہوا

کچھ اور طرح کے حالات سے نکلتا ہے

ثبوت سارا ہمارے خلاف بھی اب تو

ہمارے اپنے بیانات سے نکلتا ہے

جو چاروں سمت گرانی کی ہے فراوانی

تو قحط بھی اسی بہتات سے نکلتا ہے

وہ لحن جس کا سروکار ہی نہیں مجھ سے

کبھی تو وہ بھی مری ذات سے نکلتا ہے

ظفرؔ یہ باعث تشویش بھی ہے سب کے لیے

جو مطلب اور مری بات سے نکلتا ہے
