The West Indian Cricket Team is known as “Windies” and after 2017 it became its official name. In 1928 it acquired the status and played first test match against England in Lords. Since 1926 West Indies is the full member of the International Cricket Council. In1973, West Indies played first ODI against England in Leeds.

West Indies is the first team that has won back to back world cups. West Indies played their first T20 against New Zealand at Auckland in 2006 and in 2012 and 2016 it became the T20 World Cup champions. Cricket West Indies is the governing body of the cricket in West Indies which consist of the cricket Associations.
