High Wycombe is a large town near London, in Buckinghamshire. The mayor of High Wycombe is Mazamal Hussain. The mayor is elected by 23 trustees of the town every year, and it is a matter of great honor. High Wycombe has a unique tradition, in which a mayor is ‘weighed in’ when he is elected, and the former mayor is ‘weighed out’, in order to make sure they have not put on weight on tax payers money. It is a 200 year old tradition. Mazamal Hussain explained that the budget is decided by a cabinet and there are many other important decisions which a mayor does not make alone.
