Dry fruits are a specialty of the winter season. One of the most consumed dry fruit in Pakistan is mongphali (peanuts). Before peanuts could be sold in the market, they are cleaned and readied by women who work hard all day long from 7 or 8 AM to 8 PM daily. One of the women who do this work revealed that they receive only Rs. 50 for one sack of peanuts. These poverty stricken women have no choice but to work hard in order to support themselves and their young children.
