The Orange Line Train is the first fastest intercity project in Pakistan to be launched in Lahore. The Orange Train has started its journey in Lahore from October 25, 2020. The 27.1 km long journey from Ali Town to Dera Gujran is now completed in one 45 mints. Traffic and pollution in Lahore has caused a lot of problems, the solution of which has been found in the form of the Orange Train. Before the Orange Line train in Lahore metro bus service has also proved to be a successful Transport service .The line is served by 26 stations and is expected to handle 250,000 passenger daily. It is a part of the wider CPEC China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Orange line is being financed by both the Government of Pakistan, and Government of China. Train will run by Electricity, The system required approximately 20 MWs of electricity to power the trains, as well as the system of electricity have been secured for the project's operations from the Lahore Electric Supply Company . The system will have a back-up unit in case of power failure, while a third emergency system also available to if both power sources fail
