35 year old Tariq Hussain is a handicapped shoe mender who lives in Lahore, near Peco Road and works by the roadside. He was two years old when he got sick with typhoid. Due to the lack of proper treatment, Tariq Hussain lost his ability to walk. He lives with his old and ill mother in a rented flat, and supports himself by working all day as a cobbler. Tariq has 4 brothers and 3 sisters but none of them support him or their mother in any way. Tariq lives a tough life and does not know what happiness is. What keeps him going is the thought of his mother, and taking care of her is his purpose in life.
