How to Join Pak Army as a Medical Cadet?

Here is how you can start the process:

  5. You will get an email from the Pak Army telling you your test date, time, test center, and roll number.

Eligibility Criteria

The qualification required for a medical cadet is as follows:

  • FSc (Pre Medical) with minimum 70% marks or ‘A’ level passed in Biology, Physics and Chemistry with minimum grade C
  • Candidates possessing foreign qualifications such as O Level and A level will be required to obtain Equivalence Certificate and conversion of marks from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC)
  • Candidates who have passed FSc Part-I Examination with minimum 70% marks and are appearing in FSc Part-II/ Final Examination can also apply on ‘Hope Certificate’ issued by the Head of the institutions.

The candidate should be male and unmarried. He should be a citizen of Pakistan or a domicile holder of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit Baltistan.

Physical Standards

  • Minimum Height should be 5’4” (162.5 cm)  
  • Weight should be according to the Body Mass Index (BMI)

Age Limit of the Medical Cadets

To avail, the Medical Cadet Commission Jobs, the age of the candidates should be around 17 - 21 years. It is relaxable for three months both in upper and lower age limit.

Selection Procedure:

The candidate has to go through the following tests:

  1. Written/Intelligence/Personality Test

The written test will be based on multiple choice questions from the following subjects:

  • English
  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

 The candidate declared successful in the written test will undergo physical/medical tests at AS&RCs.

  1. Physical Tests

Candidates must qualify following physical tests:

  • 6 Km Run - 9 Minutes
  • Push Ups - 15 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
  • Sit Ups - 20 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
  • Chin Ups - 3 Repetitions in 2 Minutes
  • Ditch Crossing - 7’4” x 7’4” with a Depth of 4’

 

  1. Preliminary Medical Test

 An initial medical test would be taken at AS&RCs. Usually, height, weight and vital signs are checked.

  1. Further Selection

 Shortlisted candidates will receive notice for intelligence/ personality test and interviews by the GHQ selection board at Army Medical College, Rawalpindi through the website as well as call up letter. Medical examination of recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHS. Final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of the candidate’s overall performance.

Training

The training of medical cadets is divided into two parts:

  1. Academic training:
  • For MBBS- 5 Years study at Army Medical Colleges Rawalpindi, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, and Multan.
  • For BDS Course- 4 Years study at Army Medical College Rawalpindi

 

  1. Military Training:

There is a 22 Weeks Basic Military Training (BMT) at PMA Kakul after completion of the final professional examination.
