There is no need to go to the Excise and Taxation Department for a car number plate check. You can check car registration online via the two methods below.

1. Via SMS
2. Via Motor Transport Management Information System (MTMIS)

You can do a car registration check online with an active internet connection through MTMIS. Alternatively, you can do vehicle verification by simply sending an SMS.

How to Check Car Registration Via SMS

The car registration check via SMS is only available in Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory. You can send an SMS to the designated number in your area by the Excise Department. The SMS charges are 50 Paisa per SMS. Send your vehicle number to the specified number for getting the vehicle registration verification details.

The car registration check Islamabad SMS number is 8521, whereas the vehicle registration check Punjab is 8785. You will receive an SMS after you send your car's registration number stating the car's owner and vehicle details.

How to Check Car Registration Via MTMIS

Motor Transport Management Information System (MTMIS) is an online vehicle verification method developed by the Excise and Taxation Department. It is currently unavailable for vehicle registration verification in Balochistan, but the system will be introduced soon.
