ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) In a crackdown on reckless behavior, police in Attock have arrested 11 individuals for violating Section 144, which prohibits bathing in rivers, streams, and canals amid the rising flood and rainfall risks in Punjab. The arrests were made by a police patrol led by ASI Muhammad Arabi of Saddar Police Station Attock on Saturday, who observed the individuals bathing in the Harro River despite the official ban.
The police team faced strong resistance from the individuals, who refused to comply with the ban and instead caused a public disturbance.
However, the authorities managed to apprehend them and booked them under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for defying government orders. The arrested individuals have been identified, and authorities are taking strict action against them.
The authorities have once again appealed to the public to strictly follow safety regulations and avoid visiting hazardous water bodies during the ongoing emergency situation. The enforcement of Section 144 is aimed at preventing drowning incidents, and the police are determined to ensure public safety.
