14 Policemen Punished

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th August, 2016) : DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf on Saturday punished 14 officials over misuse of powers, fake FIR registration, involvement in drug dealing, negligence and others. Hearing the show cause notices of policemen at Qila Gujjar Singh, he dismissed from service former SHO Gulberg sub- inspector Jamshed Ahmad over misuse of power, head constable Ali Sher and constable Imtiaz Yunus on involvement in drug dealing. The DIG announced punishment of one-year service confiscation and fine Rs 5,000 to former SHO Shafiqabad sub- inspector Abdur Rauf over negligence.

However, the punishment of one-year service confiscation was also awarded to sub-inspector Khawar Iqbal, ASI Muhammad Jameel, former SHO Millat Park inspector Naveed Akmal, head constable Amir Maqsood and sub-inspector Imtiaz Hussain. On poor performance, punishments of increment stop and others were awarded to inspector Hafiz Abdul Majid, inspector Mujahid Hussain, former SHO Baghbanpura Zaheerud Din Babar and others.
