19 Cases Submitted In Courts Against Unhygienic Food Outlets

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : The inspection teams of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration submitted challans against 19 unhygienic food outlets in the relevant courts during the last week for not following food and hygiene laws.
According to details, these teams conducted 174 inspections of food outlets during last week and issued notices to 46 food outlets during last seven days for failing to comply with food and hygiene laws . ICT sources told APP on Friday that campaign against those selling adulterated food items has been intensified and inspection teams of Health and Food Departments Islamabad sealed a hotel in G- 11/4 for unhygienic conditions.
The inspections teams took 20 samples of food items and sent them to laboratory for analysis. Four dozen packets of `gutka' and twenty liter unbranded ketch up was also confiscated. The administration has directed the food outlets to ensure compliance of food safety laws failing which strict action would be taken against the violators of food safety laws. Meanwhile, Drug Inspector Islamabad conducted inspections in various areas of the city and directed the licensees to ensure compliance of drug laws.
