4,573 Cases Registered Against Wheelie Doers

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Augst,2016) : The City Traffic Police (CTP) have registered cases against 4,573 wheelie doers and arrested 4,884 violators besides impounding 3,634 motorcycles in a special crackdown during the last week. Talking to APP here on Thursday, CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said the SPs and DSPs had been directed to use all possible resources in the drive to make it a success. He said he had paid surprise visit to various points in the provincial metropolis to check performance of special squads against wheelie doers and juvenile bikers.
Hafeez Cheema said the traffic police had established pickets on various roads, including The Mall, Jail Road, Ferozpepur Road, Gulbarg, Liberty Chowk and Gaddafi Stadium, to check wheelie doers. The CTP with the help of Atlas Honda had also launched a campaign for creating awareness till August 14 and wardens and traffic education unit were educating people in this regard. He said awareness pamphlets in big shopping malls and departmental stores besides other important places had been displayed.
