Balochistan Govt Distributing Tricycles Under “Kumk Program” For Welfare & Empowerment Of Persons With Disabilities

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2026) Under the vision and special directive of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and guidance of Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai, the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Balochistan is taking practical steps for the welfare and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

In this regard, the process of distributing tricycles among the disabled under the “Kumk Program” is underway, which aims to provide them with mobility facilities, promote independence and ensure their maximum participation in social and economic activities.

Director General Social Welfare Balochistan Mir Saifullah Khetran, while talking to the media, said that the provincial government is committed to providing practical assistance and equal opportunities to the disabled and making them an active part of the society.

He said that the distribution of tricycles under the “Kumk Program” is an important initiative, which aims to reduce the mobility problems faced by the disabled and help them lead a more independent, dignified and active life.

The DG Social Welfare said that the process of distribution of tricycles is being closely monitored so that this facility could be provided to the deserving and eligible disabled people in a transparent manner.

He added that the disabled are an important part of the society and the government would continue to take further steps to improve their access, mobility, education, rehabilitation and economic and social opportunities.

Mir Saifullah Khetran said that the Social Welfare Department is striving to implement the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and the guidance of Parliamentary Secretary Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai into practical measures so that the process of welfare and empowerment of disabled people across Balochistan could be made more effective.

He expressed hope that the “Kumk Program” would help in establishing an inclusive society where persons with disabilities enjoy dignity and equal opportunities to participate fully in social and economic activities.

The Kumk Program is an important step towards empowering persons with disabilities and building an inclusive Balochistan.
