CDA, MCI Taking Steps To Meet Housing Needs In Capital

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Dec, 2016 ) : Capital Development Authority (CDA) is cognizant of rising housing needs in Islamabad and planning adequate measures to bridge the housing deficit in the capital.
CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad's (MCI) concerned departments are jointly operating for the purpose. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views during the visit to Sector C-14, C-15 and C-16.
Mayor was accompanied by Member Engineering, CDA Shahid Sohail, Member Planning & Design, CDA Asad Mehboob Kiani, Deputy Mayor, MCI, Syed Zeshan Ali Naqvi and other relevant officers. Taking notice of encroachments in Sector C-14, C-15 and C-16 the Mayor directed the concerned departments of CDA including Enforcement Directorate to ensure removal of encroachments.
He directed Enforcement Directorate to make daily visits of the area to curb the encroachments. Check posts should be established for this purpose and operations should be carried out regularly in collaboration with area police to retrieve the encroached land.
The acquired land should be fenced and a separate force should be raised in cooperation with Land and Rehabilitation Directorate, CDA, the Mayor directed. Land and Rehabilitation Directorate should establish its camp office in the area he said adding the staff of Camp Office should have relevant record with them.
Mayor's visit to the C-14, C-15 and C-16 was followed by his visit to Sector D-12. The Mayor inspected the ongoing development work in Sector D-12 and directed its completion at the earliest.
