CDGL Continues Drive Against Overcharging

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th August, 2016) : The City District Government Lahore (CDGL), continuing its drive against overcharging, conducted raids on 1,015 shops across the provincial capital on Thursday. As many as 110 shopkeepers were arrested, and 41 of them were sent to prison for three days after summary trial.
Price control magistrates also lodged 61 FIRs against shopkeepers at various police stations. The district administration challaned 21 shopkeepers and imposed Rs 29,000 fine on violators of the price Act. DCO Capt (R) Muhammad Usman issued directions to the price control officials to continue crackdown on hoarders and profiteers.
