
Charsadda Police Arrest Five Suspects After Recovery Of Weapons

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) Police in Charsadda district on Saturday arrested five suspected criminals after recovery of arms and ammunition from their custody
On the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda, Muhammad Waqas Khan, the Tangi police conducted a successful operation and arrested five dangerous suspects involved in the attack on a police party in Gandheri.
During the operation, two wanted criminals were also taken into custody. A large cache of weapons, one hand grenade, and hundreds of bullets of various calibers were recovered.
Police spokesman told media reporters that on July 23, 2025, the in-charge of Gandheri checkpoint, Zafar Khan, along with other personnel, was on routine patrol when six armed assailants suddenly opened fire on the police party.
As a result, checkpoint in-charge Zafar Khan and driver Shakeel were injured, and the police vehicle damaged. The attackers managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
Taking notice of the incident, DPO Charsadda Muhammad Waqas Khan formed a special team under the leadership of DSP Tangi Gulshaid Khan, along with SHO Tangi Police Station Bismillah Jan and other officers, to trace and apprehend the suspects.
During the operation, five residents of Gandheri Tangi — Shamshad (son of Khan Badshah), Khaista Badshah (son of Khan Badshah), Inam (son of Shamshad), Naushad (son of Khan Badshah), and Shahab (son of Khaista Badshah) — were arrested.
From their possession, one M4 rifle, one Kalashnikov, five pistols, and hundreds of bullets of various calibers were recovered. Another suspect was found in possession of a Kalashnikov and a hand grenade.
In further action, two proclaimed offenders Adil (son of Amir Rehman) and Amjad (son of Amir Rehman), residents of Ajara Kalay Tangi who were wanted in serious criminal cases, were also arrested.
Further investigation is underway, and more arrests and revelations are expected in light of the ongoing inquiries.
