RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2025) Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima on Wednesday directed the City Traffic Police (CTP) officers and wardens across the district to perform their duties diligently for the convenience of citizens during rains.
The CTO, in her directive, asked the officials to remain at their place of duty during rain using umbrellas and raincoats and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
She advised the wardens to immediately inform traffic control and related departments about stagnant rain water on main roads and low-lying areas.
In case of any emergency, they should remain in contact with other departments, she added.
CTO Beenish Fatima also instructed deputy superintendents of police (DSPs)/circle incharges to remain in the field to monitor the CTP officials managing traffic flow.
The CTO urged the citizens to keep their children away from rain drains, electric poles and other places that cause damage during rains.
She asked the drivers to reduce speed of their vehicles while passing by pedestrians, besides using screen wipers and double indicators in heavy rain.
